A bowl of cottage cheese
Why Cottage Cheese Won't Align With Your Keto Lifestyle
The keto diet focuses on low-carb, high-fat meals. While cottage cheese is high in protein, it contains more carbs than the diet permits and doesn't have the highest fat levels.
On the diet, your carb intake should be around 20-50 grams per day. One cup of cottage cheese contains around eight grams of carbs and only nine grams of fat.
Thankfully, other cheeses can help you adhere to the meal plan, such as cream cheese, which has only one gram of carbs in a single ounce.
Goat cheese is also creamy and tangy like cottage cheese but has high protein levels and virtually no carbs. Parmesan cheese is also quite low in carbs.
