The Easy Trick For Making Baklava In Record Time
Baklava is a delicate yet decadent pastry that perfectly compliments a cup of coffee, but it's also known to be time-consuming when homemade, requiring hours and sometimes days of work. For those of you without all those hours to spare, try this trick to make baklava in record time.
Baklava is made with many ultra-thin sheets of phyllo dough, plus walnuts or pecans, butter or ghee, and sugar or honey. Traditionally, every sheet of phyllo dough is brushed with butter individually, but to save time, you can simply pour melted butter over the top of the pastry instead.
To try this trick, layer the phyllo on a large baking sheet, pulse walnuts and sugar in a food processor, then lay the mixture on top of the phyllo. Then add another layer of phyllo, cut the baklava, and pour melted butter on top before baking. The butter will soak into the dough and it will bake to golden perfection.
