Italian Cuisine & Culture, Food History, Mediterranean Recipes
  • She spends every summer in Italy further studying history, food, and language.
  • She has led multiple Roman Forum and Colosseum tours (along with visits to the best gelato spots, of course).
  • During the pandemic, she cooked for her family for 100 nights straight, testing out different recipes each day (of which her favorite was definitely Molly Yeh's Harissa Braised Chickpeas).

Michele has worked as a high school Latin, history, and mythology teacher since 2016, but her exuberant, 15-year passion for food and writing led her to further expand her career. She has always believed in the transcendent power of both stories and sharing a meal. She has written food and Italian travel articles for publications like The Penny Hoarder and Giadzy, Giada De Laurentiis' company on all things Italian cuisine, products, and culture. Michele also writes for her own personal substack, Kitchen Collateral. She joined Tasting Corner as a freelancer in 2023 and is currently a features writer. When Michele isn't researching Italy's best restaurants, planning her next trip, writing, or recipe testing, she's color coordinating her myriad of cookbooks.

Michele has bachelor's and master's degrees in Education and Classics from Boston College. She has also continued her education in Rome through The Polis Institute and The University of Massachusetts, Boston.
